I can't say how much our family of 17 enjoyed our vacation at JL Bar Ranch. The property was beautiful. The rooms were fantastic. The activities on the ranch were so much fun. The food was beyond great. And the staff was especially great. From ages 69 to 4, we all had a great time. If you are looking for a great family vacation, JL Bar Ranch is a must!

I normally do not share reviews, but after reading others, I felt it was appropriate to share my experience in a constructive and professional manner. I stayed at JL Bar Ranch at the beginning of November, and my intention in writing this review is simply to provide feedback, with no expectation of a refund or compensation of any kind. On the day of our arrival, one of the first things I asked the front desk about was spa services, as we were very interested. The front desk team kindly provided a phone number for the spa. The following day, we returned to the front desk to inform them that we had attempted to contact the spa multiple times without receiving a response. During that second day, we noticed that the spa attendant was spending time in the restaurant with her manager, and it appeared they had a personal relationship. As guests, situations like this can unfortunately impact the level of service received, even when the overall stay is otherwise pleasant. Overall, our stay was good. The food was excellent, the check-in process was quick, and the front desk staff were attentive and professional throughout our stay, which we truly appreciated. Not everything was negative, and I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended, with the goal of helping improve the guest experience moving forward.

Absolute 10/10 Experience! An Unforgettable 6-Month Anniversary at JL Ranch Resort and Spa My boyfriend and I booked a last-minute getaway to JL Ranch Resort and Spa for our 6-month anniversary, and it was hands-down one of the best trips we’ve ever taken. From the activities to the accommodations, everything was flawless, but what truly sets this place apart is the incredible staff. We are already planning our next (and much longer) stay! 🏡 First Impressions & Accommodations We arrived around 3:00 PM and were greeted by Landon at the front desk. He was amazing, incredibly welcoming, and helpful! He handed us a map and immediately went to work ensuring all of our activities were perfectly booked. Our room was beautiful and immaculate. The king-size bed was exceptionally comfortable, giving us plenty of room to stretch out and relax after long days on the ranch. 🍽️ World-Class Dining (Hire the Chef!) Before dinner on our first night, we grabbed a drink at the lobby bar. Tess, the bartender, was so nice and amazing to chat with! When it came to the food, we were completely blown away. If I could hire the chef personally, I would! Jasmine and Diamond took care of us on our first night and went completely above and beyond to make sure every single meal was unforgettable. Must-Orders: The Steak (of course!), the Surf and Turf Nachos, the Lemon Pepper Wings, and the Sea Bass. Dessert: Do not skip the Crème Brûlée—it is to die for! 🤠 Unmatched Activities & Staff The activities were the highlight of our trip, led by a team of absolute rockstars: The General Store: We met Christie here, who was so incredibly sweet. She explained the bike and golf cart rentals and let us know the store was the central hub for activities. She even picked us up later and had ice-cold water waiting for us after horseback riding when we were super thirsty—talk about top-tier hospitality! The Ranch Experience: Larry was our guide and he was a blast. He is so funny, a fantastic conversationalist, and made the whole experience incredibly fun. Horseback Riding: Kylee was amazing and so great with the horses. My boyfriend and I rode on Adriana and Armani, who were the sweetest, gentlest horses. Axe Throwing & Archery: Cooper was our guide for both, and he made these experiences so memorable. For axe throwing, he was highly educational, emphasized safety, and made sure we had a blast. Later, Landon squeezed us in for a last-minute archery session, and Cooper was fantastic at helping my boyfriend hone his technique. The Spa: I was really nervous because this was my first-ever spa experience, but Haylee was so accommodating and nice. Despite our last-minute booking, she managed to fit us in back-to-back. She made the entire experience fun, relaxing, and deeply enjoyable. 🎒 Final Verdict JL Ranch gave us a perfect, stress-free anniversary. Every single staff member we encountered genuinely cared about making our stay special. We cannot recommend this place enough, and we will definitely be back to catch all the activities we missed this time around!

JL Bar and Ranch is a hidden gem outside of Sonora and I can’t say enough good things about the people and the ranch as a whole. Extremely well kept and the rooms are very clean and updated as well. The staff was extremely accommodating to all of our needs and the food was exceptional as well. I would recommend renting a golf cart during the warmer months and to get to see the greater property. Wonderful people and wonderful place that we will visit again for sure.

Amazing place. The ranch is 13,000 acres. The resort area is maintained very well. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. The lodge is beautiful. The rooms were very nice and clean. Very big as well. They have many activities at the ranch that are listed on their website. We mainly went to hunt. Great experience! The guides were amazing! I want to go back. Also, the restaurant and the food were really good. All in all, an incredible trip and I will go back as soon as I can.

For the price we paid, the Queen bed we had was uncomfortable and facilities underwhelming. The activities were very overpriced and the staff was not very interested in serving us and were underwhelming. We were told they would have someone meet us during dinner to discuss activities and no one showed up. The 20% automatic gratuity for meals was ridiculous for the service we were given and the food that was served. We were basically the only people on site and we felt more like a burden as they were more concerned about the bigger party they had arriving later the night we checked in. However, the location and ranch is beautiful and was peaceful. This was our 27th Anniversary and somewhat a disappointment. This is a perfect place for some but not for others.
